Andres Aquino

EDUCATION. Andres Aquino received his B.A. summa cum laude and M.A. and was awarded “Scholar of the College” from Boston College. He has years of experience in show production, facility management, talent management, event coordination, publishing, and market research as well as teaching, writing, theater directing and business administration. In addition, he has worked in international business consulting, exporting and importing as well as fashion design and fashion merchandising to the boutique market.

PHOTOGRAPHER. As a fashion and fine art photographer Mr. Aquino has covered hundreds of designer runway shows in Europe, South America, Canada, Africa and the USA. His photography work and editorials have appeared in numerous publications around the world.

BUSINESSMAN. Andres Aquino is the founder of Fashion Syndicate Press a leading fashion photographic agency since 1997 with press clients worldwide. This business is complemented by a network of successful web sites related to fashion, beauty and photography, including www.fashionshowroom.com, milanfashionshows.com, parisfashionshows.net, newyorkrunwayshows.com, miamifashionshows.com, madridfashionshows.com, londonfashionshows.com and others receiving millions of hits per month.

PUBLISHER. In February 2008 Andres Aquino launched Couture & Luxury, a print and online fashion and lifestyle pictorial.

FASHION SHOW PRODUCER. As founder and producer of COUTURE FASHION WEEK, launched in 2003, as well as other fashion show events, Mr. Aquino oversees all production aspects - from sponsors to designers, from venue selection to model casting, from technical staff operations to public relations.
Couture Fashion Week is a multi-day event showcasing couture and luxury fashion. It also includes exhibits of luxury brands and fine art as well as world-class entertainment and receptions. The event is held in top venues in New York City, Palm Beach, Florida and other selected cities and is attended by upscale consumers, invited VIPs, the press and high-end store buyers. Couture Fashion Week offers unique branding opportunities for luxury products and services.

FASHION DESIGNER. Inspired by his experience in the fashion field and needing garments to showcase jewelry and accessories by designers participating in the fashion events, Mr. Aquino began to design gowns. The enthusiastic reaction by audiences and press encouraged him to create entire seasonal collections of high fashion evening and cocktail ensembles starting in 2008. His fashion designs have appeared in major magazines, websites and TV broadcasts, and the collections have been presented in Europe, New York and Palm Beach to great reviews.

FASHION CAREER MILESTONES Spring 2001.

Invited as special guest judge to Fashion Week Latino in Bogota, Colombia.

Fall 2002. First New York fashion photographer specially invited to attend South Africa Fashion Week, Johannesburg.

February 2003. Launch of Couture Fashion Week. Six fashion shows produced at Manhattan Penthouse, New York City. Participating designers from South Africa, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Austria.

September 2003. Couture Fashion Week New York City with participating designers from Russia, South Africa, Dominican Republic, Brazil, USA, Portugal and Lebanon. Created and presented the first International Fashion Designer of the Year Award to Russian designer Helen Yarmak. Show held at Capitale, NYC.

2004
- Fashion shows for upscale clients and audiences including the Crystal Ball Society (Bruno’s, NYC) and the launch of the Maybach at Mercedes-Benz Salon (Greenwich, CT)
- Trunk show at Helen Yarmak showroom (Fifth Avenue, NYC)
- Trunk show at Denimaxx Boutique (Madison Avenue, NYC)
- Launch of Champagne Fashion Brunch, an ongoing series of fashion shows
- Produced 3 days of runway fashion shows for top industry trade show Intima America organized by Messe Frankfurt at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

April 2005. Fashion show for upscale audience at Palm Beach art gallery.

May 2005. Hosted press conference in New York City for Chinese government delegation for partnering in the “Chinese Model Olympics”.

June 2005. Traveled to Bulgaria to promote fashion shows. Interview on country’s most popular TV program (Slavi’s Show), as well as press conference with all major national print media.

September 2005. Couture Fashion Week runway shows in New York City with participating designers from Russia, Israel, Bulgaria, Latvia, Ecuador, Germany, Dominican Republic, USA and Lebanon. International Fashion Designer of the Year Award presented to Lebanese designer Jamil Khansa.

October 2005. Fashion show for clients and friends of Manhattan Motor Cars, dealers of Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche, etc. in New York City.

February 2006. Couture Fashion Week in New York City including exhibitor displays for the first time. Followed by encore presentations in Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Coral Gables, Florida.

July 2006. Produced three days of fashion shows for top industry trade show Lingerie Americas in New York City, coordinating all aspects of the showing of 180 outfits from NY, Paris and Milan including designers and labels such as La Perla, Oscar de la Renta, Betsey Johnson and many others.

February 2007. Couture Fashion Week in New York City presented 14 collections over three days at the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria with designers from Kuwait, South Africa, Croatia, Australia, Swaziland, Bahamas, Moldova, Colombia, Lebanon, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic and USA. With an audience of press, fashion buyers, diplomats, VIPs and upscale consumers.

June 2007. In recognition for his contributions to the fashion industry, Andres Aquino was invited to Curacao and presented with the Prestige Award International by the Curacao Beauty Organization.

September 2007
- Couture Fashion Week in New York City. Thirteen runway shows over three days at the St. Regis Hotel and Westin Hotels with an audience of international press, fashion buyers, diplomats and VIPs. Participating designers from Russia, Australia, Romania, Argentina, Albania, Dominican Republic, Canada and USA.
- One show was filmed for new reality TV series Catwalk for VH1 and for a PBS documentary
- The fashion shows were filmed for a new series of fashion content in vertical HD format to be displayed on large plasmas at a major casino in Reno, Nevada.

December 2007. Produced gala fashion show for the grand opening of the Desmond Tutu Center, hotel and convention facility, in New York City. Participating designers from Russia, Germany, Romania and USA.

February 2008. Couture Fashion Week is held in New York at the Westin Times Square and in Palm Beach at The Colony and Trump Tower. Designers from Lebanon, Romania, Kuwait, India, Brazil, Ukraine, Bulgaria and the USA. Launched Couture & Luxury magazine.

July 2008. Invited as special guest to participate in Fashion TV Summer Festival, Mamaia, Romania.

September 2008. Couture Fashion Week is held at the Westin Times Square in New York City with participating designers from Albania, Colombia, Australia, Turkey, Romania, Egypt, India, and the USA. Created and presented the first Eco-Friendly Fashion Design award to Turkish designer Rabia Yalcin.

November 2008. Invited as special guest to participate in Bucharest Fashion Week, Romania.

February 2009. Couture Fashion Week is held at the world-famous Waldorf-Astoria in New York City with participating designers from Egypt, Romania, the Dominican Republic, Australia, Lebanon, Turkey, South Korea and the USA. A number of prominent celebrities and diplomats are in attendance.

February 2009. Luxury fashion shows held at Two City Plaza, West Palm Beach, Florida.

June 2009. Invited as special guest designer to close the multi-day República Dominicana Fashion Week, Santo Domingo.

September 2009. Couture Fashion Week is again held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City with participating designers from Dubai, Turkey, Lebanon, Chile, Australia, Egypt, China, Thailand, Romania, The Netherlands, Nigeria, the Dominican Republic and the USA. The event launches the “Couture Fashion Week Ball”.

October 2009. Invited as special guest – along with such celebrities and notables as award-winning actress Maria Conchita Alonso and Rashel Pouri, Princess of Iran - to the “Miracle in the Heart of Tamaulipas” star-studded charity gala and benefit for disadvantaged children in Tamaulipas, Mexico.

December 2009. Invited as special guest to present latest collection at India International Fashion Week, New Delhi.

February 2010. Couture Fashion Week held in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City with participating designers from Lebanon, Dubai, Turkey, Romania, Nigeria, the USA and more.
