Obama Master Multi-Tasker takes on Gas and Energy Savings while dealing with Debt Ceiling

Does anyone think it might be a good idea to get behind the President of the United States instead of lining up to criticise.

Obama proposes to save 12 billion barrels of oil and eliminated 6 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide pollution.

Why Barack Obama is the Man for the Job.  While Congress and the Senate go through its machinations to avert the Debt Ceiling Fiasco. Barack Obama continues to do his Job.

Yes he is running for re-election and with all of the opposition the heat is certainly on.

You may believe that this is just a the Administration’s desire to change the discussion from the Debt Ceiling however what I see is an effective President who understand that he must Multi-Task.  He will not have to Exercise the War Powers Act to save the Economy.

However, can Washington lead the world out of recession and unless quite careful a depression.

So Barack Obama’s Campaign has forward this note to me as a supporter and I am sure it will be picked up by mainstream media.  Most likely though not from a positive perspective.  This President has had more to deal with because of the past mistakes of the past administration that anyone else may have already crumbled.

This President found Bin Laden while multi-tasking and has done the same now for the Environment with this announcement.

Where are the supporters of reality?

President Obama while it’s becoming harder and harder to filter the truth from the BS.  Thanks for doing something and handing the job of the Presidency as a Master Multi-tasker.

We hope the programs work and that you will open your Administration to those of us with additional ideas to save billions in revenue and jobs.

The energy Congress and the Senate is giving to cutting they should be spending to generate revenue. There are innovative ways to raise capital, create jobs and some of the greatest minds at Apple, Google, Facebook and yes even WCN has answers to connect the dots to save the global economy.

Again, get a copy of my Anti-Piracy Proposal sent to Michael Blake.  We can raise an additional 50 Billion dollars by implementing WCN’s ANTI-DIGITAL MEDIA FORMAT (APDMF) Utility.

Keep your focus and continue doing your job some of us recognize the pressure and the performance and think you are handling it all quite well under the circumstances.

However, the help you seek is right in front of you through technology advances and small businesses like WCN hoping to get the opportunity to serve.

Now here is your campaign message wrapped in an appeal for a Global Transmedia Summit with the players mentioned.

PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN MESSAGE

Jay –

Anyone who cares about the environment and what we pay at the pump needs to hear this news.

The details get a little complicated — I had to study up to write this thing — but bear with me, because this is important.

This week, the President unveiled the next round of a program to make  America‘s cars more efficient — the most important step our country’s  taken to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, cut pollution, and bring  down costs for drivers.

Getting it done meant bringing together  stakeholders — from auto workers and union representatives to  manufacturers and environmental leaders — to offer their two cents and  agree upon a program and set of standards. In light of what’s happening  on Capitol Hill as I write this, it’s a welcome reminder of what can  happen when folks put aside their differences and work together to do  big things for our country.

This announcement follows up on an  aggressive plan that the administration put in place back in 2009,  setting ambitious fuel-efficiency and greenhouse-gas standards for  2012-2016 model cars and trucks. That plan alone is estimated to save  1.8 billion barrels of oil — and save families up to $3,000 at the pump  — over these vehicles’ lifetimes. And this new program, covering model  years 2017-2025, takes real, tangible steps to raise the bar even  higher, nearly doubling the current fuel efficiency of the average car.

This is a big deal. Everyone from truck drivers to farmers to teachers  to business owners feel the burden of transportation costs — and will  feel the effects of these improvements.

Because you’re someone  who has let us know that you’re particularly interested in clean energy  and environmental issues, we wanted to make sure you heard about this  news. We’ve pulled the information you need about this plan into a  graphic you can share with your friends and family.

Check it out, and spread the word.

Here’s what this program will mean in the short term: We’ll start  seeing more electric and hybrid vehicles from manufacturers and more  clean-diesel, efficient SUVs and sedans. Automakers will have new  incentives to make smart, innovative cars and trucks — from the  materials they choose down to the design of their engines and  transmissions. They’ll be turning to start-up companies in the  clean-energy sector and in advanced battery manufacturing, helping to  create jobs across the country.

And in the long term, the results of this program are huge. Here are a couple numbers to show how it will break down:

– By model year 2025, the average American car or truck will get  54.5 miles a gallon (the average car currently gets 23.8 mpg).

– We’ll have saved 12 billion barrels of oil and eliminated 6 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide pollution.

– A family that purchases a new car in 2025 will save $8,200 in  fuel costs, compared with what they’d pay for gas for a similar vehicle  bought in 2010.

– All told, American drivers will save nearly $2 trillion over the life of the program.

Take a look at the infographic we’ve put together to learn more about what the President’s announcement means for all of us:

This is something every American needs to hear about, so you should spread the word.

Thanks,

Mitch

Some moments can last forever. As a marketer, you have the power to create such moments yourself. Are you ready for your moment of truth?

You better be. The “moment of truth” concept has been around for years now. There are three you may have heard of so far, and I’ll make the case for a fourth.

·       The best known is the First Moment of Truth (FMOT), coined by Procter & Gamble in 2005. This is the window, just three to seven seconds long, where a shopper encounters a product on a store shelf and decides whether to buy it.

·       The Second Moment of Truth (SMOT), also described by P&G, is the moment when a consumer uses the product. This is another powerful marketing opportunity.

·       Google first added the prequel, called the Zero Moment of Truth (ZMOT) in a blog post last year and now on a new site with a must-read e-book. This is the period of time where a consumer searches for information and is exposed to various sources before arriving at the store.

·       The fourth moment that must be added is the Infinite Moment of Truth (IMOT). If a shopper progressed from ZMOT to FMOT to SMOT (or, from researching to shopping to owning), then there’s the potential for sharing. The IMOT is infinite in three ways: a consumer can share such experiences with a nearly infinite number of people directly and indirectly; there are infinite ways a consumer can share such experiences; and the consumer can share such experiences over an infinite period of time. ‘

Meet David Berkowitz at Social Media Insider Summit Tahoe!

David Berkowitz will be there moderating a panel on “Panel: Social and Mobile: Two Platforms Made for One Another” on August 18 at 9:30 AM. Top executives will be there. Will you?

Register today and save.

Google discusses social media in its ZMOT e-book, but doesn’t go nearly far enough. The book describes scenarios where the consumer reaches the SMOT, which can have an impact on the ZMOT of others. That does a tremendous disservice to the power of social media. There are three overarching reasons why the Infinite Moment of Truth is fundamentally unique:

1)     Many people reach the SMOT and the process ends there. They own the product, and their experience with it shapes their opinion, but nothing else happens. Think about all the purchases you made in the past week, including all the individual items from a grocery store or drugstore visit. Now think about how many of those purchases you mentioned to a single other person. It is fairly safe to assume that you didn’t tell anyone about the vast majority of your purchases. Only in special circumstances did you experience an Infinite Moment of Truth, if you did at all.

2)     Once you appreciate that the Infinite Moment of Truth is special, then you can appreciate that it deserves special attention. There are factors that determine whether anyone mentions a purchase to anyone else. It helps if the consumer loves the product, and that’s always a worthy goal. Evoking any reaction at all helps; the polarizing Marmite has a homepage that leads you to different versions of its website depending on whether you love it or hate it (thanks to the excellent book Different by Youngme Moon for this example). It could be the purchase experience or packaging that’s memorable. Perhaps the brand explicitly asked for a review or comment. In some cases, it may be appropriate to incentivize feedback. As a marketer, you have the potential to trigger an Infinite Moment of Truth, so you can plan for that in your marketing program.

3)     The Infinite Moment of Truth is the only moment that can trigger a Zero Moment of Truth for others. Thus, it can potentially be far more profitable than all the other moments. It’s the hardest to control, but the upside of the return on investment and ad spend can be considerable if done right.

All these moments of truth work together. There’s a clear progression, with ZMOT increasingly playing a role, FMOT channeling everything learned during the research phase into emotions that trigger a decision, SMOT being the most important factor in customer retention, and then those select IMOT instances rippling outward to reach new consumers. Make each moment count.

We’re All Entrepreneurs Now

by Bob DeSena, Tuesday, July 26, 2011

What a show, with dueling arguments and superstar spokesmen. But we can now announce a deal. It’s done. Our long national nightmare is over. With rancorous negotiations behind us, and billions of dollars rescued, the nation is secure.

I speak of course of the NFL Players Association agreement with management. Now we can

get on with our lives, our liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, at least every Sunday. As to that other issue, raising the national credit card limit from $14.3 trillion to, well, whatever is more than that, of course, that will have to wait.

As the world watches in amazement and/or horror on MMTV (minute-to-minute television), we have seven, that’s seven, plans on the table. We have Reid and Boehner and CCB and McConnel

l and G6, the Grand Bargain and The Can (as in kick it). All but The Can have been pronounced as non-st

arters by one side or the other. And that will be vetoed by the President, he says, if Congress dares to pass it in the emergency which is already upon us.

What goes on here?

Deadlines have a way of providing focus, particularly when played out in the stark sight, sound and motion of television, as we watch much of the posturing give way to bottom line positions. And now we have the bottom line. It’s the length of the deal. It’s always been about the length of the deal. One side insists on an extension through 2012. The other side on a multistep process that insures we argue about this again, in the heart of the election season of 2012. Which, of course, will be the ultimate TV show.

There you have it. And with that clarity, let’s understand the depth of the trouble we’re in. Our negotiators have now exposed the motives underlying their by-the-poll positions, and it is likely to have a similar effect: to default itself. That means interest rates rise, credit becomes even scarcer, the business environment gets more difficult. And it’s not a walk in the park now.

So what do we do? For those who have not yet made the mental adjustment, we’re on our own. N

o help is coming to save the day. If we toil at IBM or for a garage start up, we’re all entrepreneurs now.

Everyone.

Joseph Schumpeter, an economist and political scientist, was “a champion of innovation and entrepreneurship,” according to The Economist magazine. From entrepreneurs, or “wild spirit

s” as he called them, come changes in a nation. He believed that these individuals are the ones who make things work. He said an entrepreneur “disturbs equilibrium” and is the prime cause of economic development. And he did not confine his view of the entrepreneur to individuals in new enterprises. He said that innovation also comes from the large companies that have the resources to invest in R&D which drives innovation.

There is one more characteristic of the entrepreneur. It is leadership.

Leadership means the willingness not just to innovate or launch a new enterprise or a new idea, b

ut to accept responsibility for the outcome. It is to be accountable.

All change begins with attitude change. It may be an odd time to think about t

he opportunities ahead of us, because the challenges appear so daunting. But that’s when the largest gains are made. That’s when the game is won.

It is now up to all of us to disturb some equilibrium.

Is Facebook The Central Bank for Social Media?

We have been featuring important articles regarding Social TV and Social Media, and especially Transmedia Brandcasting Which we believe will be the future for Advertisers who are simply getting ripped off from relying on Nielson Panels to set rates. No different from Moody's and S&P's rating for Lehman, Fannie Mae and Fannie Mac who enjoyed AAA Ratings for what turned out to be total crap.

Is the same thing happening by design and aren't Advertisers wise enough to know at this point. The convergence of media, and especially Transmedia requires Hyper Transparency and the industry may not be able to stand as is if the total truth were known about the scarcity model used to drive up Ad Inventory. So many great Independents are locked out from getting their shows distributed and when one does break through, unless the right Directors, Producers are chosen the rest of us are left pressing of face to the glass waiting on our turn. Well that BS has to Stop. We have an opportunity to level the playing field and that is exactly what we plan to do at WCNTV. Will Facebook, Google, Apple, Myspace and Twitter compete with Traditional Media. They have the eyeballs so will they have the balls to deal with Indpendents with the answers to their major questions. Submmitted by a frustrated customer of entertainemnt for 50 Plus Years. We have to do a better job of giving Advertisers value for money and reporting that proves their ROI. Transmedia Brandcasting can accomplish that.

Is Facebook The Central Bank for Social Media?

Is Facebook The Central Bank for Social Media?

Or Could a Cash Rich Apple give Google + and Facebook a Run for its money?

By Jay O’Conner Chairman & CEO

Today I made a comment that stuck with me a great deal. Coming from Wall Street in my early 20’s I learned a thing or two about Money. Not the kind of money that we all figure we can live on. But, remember the saying “If I could only reach 3 times my age in salary, I would have it made!”

Well, we were sold a bill of goods; and I think with the lack of financial education taught in High School which is life’s training ground, is missing the mark. But, how can someone teach you to be financially free without having achieved it? The reality is that most teachers we hold the dearest, are sorely under paid.

In a matter of just a few short years the convergence and build out of Transmedia Brandcasting allowing Advertisers and Viewers to meet together and determine that, if the end game is selling more product and product loyalty, it will become clearer and clearer that a share of the Advertising Revenue can be shared from the savings that a small IPTV Television network can produce, deliver and air globally. Facebook has 750 Million on its way to a Billion Users worldwide and recently we posted Roger McNamee’s article that Social Media is Over.

Facebook Investor Roger McNamee Explains Why Social Is Over. Must Read for anyone considering a Career in Social Media & especially Social Media TV.

One of the Top Posts in the WCN Transmedia Blog and upon examination of his video and explanation, I have found a new hero. Of course, Roger is a Musician, (which is brilliant in itself). But if his perspective is correct, then it seems to me that Facebook is in the position to be The Central Bank of All Social Media. At the moment….. I am sure that the folks around the world are not sitting around seceding this point, however, I feel confident in my research and personal experience to go out on a limb here!  Few would disagree that Facebook is a website that has the Eyeball Capital for the Distribution of Advertising that while not the original focus of Mark Zuckerberg certainly must be, as Facebook itself considers going public.  So Google + has the cool factor for the moment and the cache to get a several million people to click the plus button but who really knows what that even means yet really or cares!

What is the Master Plan for Online Media to sustain its present business model when more people are getting their entertainment via mobile devices around the world as well as Second, Third, and even Four Screens on your person. My Mother is 74yrs old and she is walking with 3 Screens everyday. Let me just call her out. A IPad, A Sprint Smart Phone and a IPod/Touch for Music. At home she has a personal Apple Laptop. Two Wide Screen TV’s including TV’s in the Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room. Okay so she is well connected! And was very upset about P&G Pulling out of the Soaps at least initially. But glad to hear that they are coming to the WEB and All My Children and One Life to Live will live on. Losing those shows is like losing Lehman Brothers.

Which brings me to understanding how Facebook The Central Bank or Youtube/Google could provide the Stimulus for a fundamental change in the financial future of the Middle Class of the United States of America as well as Transmedia Revenue Share Communities that Facebook Deals and Google Offers. It’s time to connect the dots. And Transmedia Brandcasting accomplishes that in a Free Enterprise System where we can use Facebook Connect and Youtube/Google. But will they allow innovation to rule the day, or have they become already too big to create Transmedia Revenue Share with the people who make their companies great.

Let me try to be crystal clear. Now is the time to monetize streaming video with Product Placement so viewers (should they be so inclined) can interact with your product, with the click of the mouse and the touch of the finger or soon even voice recognition. The day is upon us and the technology has been available for years, to allow viewers to instantly click and buy anything seen. As a journalist and technologist of sorts, I have personally programmed video with this interactivity – so guys you don’t have to be a rocket scientist.

As a matter of fact we will be recruiting High School and College Students as our first line of programmers to monetize user generated content. First, however, the business model must be proven. Imagine with me if you would, a company like Penske Motors. We could fashion a deal to create a relationship with “oh let’s say”, a company like mine (WCN) where every car seen could be clicked on and a lead was generated and sent to the local Penske Dealership with a matter of a click or impression. Well it’s more than possible as it relates to anything seen on a Screen.

We see the future of Social Media merchandising via streaming video creating a new revenue stream which can create jobs for the individuals who would sign up companies using startup Groupon Companies like Social Dish, The Customer Advantage and others. Especially if allowed to interface with THE CENTRAL BANK OF SOCIAL MEDIA.

Now will Google, Apple, Microsoft, Yahoo, Myspace & Twitter allow Facebook to be the only Central Bank and become as it were Local Federal Reserve Banks remains to be seen.  What is clear is that for the community of Content Owners, Producers, Artists, Actors, Athletes are beginning to understand that the current climate of Piracy and loss of revenue must cease. And, an even larger question is will Traditional Media understand Transmedia Brandcasting early enough to position themselves to bridge their strategies beyond NetFlix, Crackle, Hulu and other Direct to Consumer Movie Distribution Channels leave them behind?

Remember The Music Industry and Napster. Let’s not make the same mistakes the USA can level the playing field by adopting technologies which will present a new opportunity to create new revenue that currently does not exist while providing a superior service not so laden with 30 second commercials that we find ourselves as audiences subsidizing re-runs and commercials 24/7. And if you have ever gotten your cable bill and with remote control in hand, can find nothing to watch when you have 300 or more channels of content, we know we have to do better as an industry!  And like it or not Facebook for the time being is The Central Bank of Social Media?  What’s your opinion?

We all know the impact of media. An abundant amount of research reveals that media designed with a specific goal to teach academic or social skills can be effective with potentially long-lasting effects. By harnessing the power of the media to teach, the Sweet Blackberry Foundation offers parents and educators an opportunity to plant seeds that inspire the soul.

About

Karyn Parsons:

Karyn Parsons, best known as the character “Hilary Banks” on the long-running television show, “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” created the Sweet Blackberry foundation after being inspired by the true tale of a determined slave and the remarkable lengths he would go to in order to find his freedom.

While growing up, Karyn’s mother, a librarian in the Black Resource Center of a library in South Central Los Angeles, would often share stories with her daughter of African-American accomplishment. Among these was the true story of Henry “Box” Brown, a slave who mailed himself to freedom. Henry was shipped, by wagon, boat and train, from Virginia to Philadelphia. When the box was opened, he became a free man.

The story left an indelible impression on Karyn, but as amazing as Henry’s story might be, she realized that over time it had been largely forgotten. Henry’s tale, as well as those of other African-American heroes, were at risk of being lost forever.

The birth of her first child and her awareness of her own responsibility as a parent to supplement her child’s education, inspired Karyn to create Sweet Blackberry. Sweet Blackberry’s mission is to ensure that Henry’s tale and other incredible stories of African-American achievement will not be lost to history. They will teach, inspire and empower children now and forever.
