Have Gas Prices destroyed your budget?  If so how can Social Media and Networking affect a change in policy.  This concept of syncronized Gas Buying is not new, however what might be a bit new is the power of Social Media.  Looking at world events for the last several years, Social Media Elected the US President and Overthrew the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak . So then what can realistically be done by consumers who want lower gas prices. Read below, this is a copy of a email I receive this morning and one I received some time ago. 

Here is the Transmedia Research Question: Can a coordinated effort by 300 Million people affect Supply and Demand and drive down prices?

GAS PRICES
THIS  IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT  WILL SHOW YOU HOW  WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO  $1.30 PER  GALLON.

This  was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive.  It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton.  If you are  tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this  please.

Phillip  Hollsworth offered this good idea.  This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than  the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going  around last April or May! It's worth your  consideration.  Join the resistance!!!!

I  hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and  it might go higher!!  Want gasoline prices to come  down?
We  need to take some intelligent, united  action.  The  oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy  gas.

It  was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for  them.  BUT, whoever  thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can  Really work.   Please read on and join with  us!
By  now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super  cheap.  Me too!  It is currently $3.08 at
Arco and Costco  for regular unleaded in Salem, Oregon and climbing every  week.

Now  that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to  think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we  need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the  marketplace..not sellers.

With  the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to  take action.

The  only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit  someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!  And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting  ourselves.


How?   Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying  gas. But  we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a  price war.
Here's  the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from  the two biggest companies (which now are  one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If  they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce
their  prices.   If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But  to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and  Mobil gas buyers.  It's really simple to do!  Now, don't  wimp out on me at this point....keep reading and I'll explain how  simple it is to reach millions of  people!!

I  am sending this note to 30 people.  If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ....  and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 =  3,000)...  and  so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we  will have reached over THREE MILLION  consumers.


If  those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each,  then 30 million people will have been  contacted!

If  it goes one level further, you guessed it.....  THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again,  all you have to do is send this to 10 people.  That's  all!

(If  you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to  do is send this to 10 people....  Well, let's face it, you just  aren't a mathematician.  But I am ..  so trust me on this  one.

How  long would all that take?  If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8  days!

I'll  bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did
you!   Acting together we  can make a difference.

If  this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.  I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.  THIS CAN REALLY  WORK.

OIL - you better sit down.

Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information: About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to  ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the  U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the  Middle East put together." Please read below.


The  U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a  revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of  North Dakota , western  South Dakota, and extreme eastern  Montana ...... check THIS out:
The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since  Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign  oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel,  we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the  Montana Legislature's financial analyst."This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reports The  Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the  Williston  Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the  'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through  North Dakota and into  Canada .. 


For years,  U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!



That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from 2006!

 

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the  Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as  Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as  Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as  Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as  Iran

- 500-times as much oil as  Yemen

- and it's all right here in the  Western United States .

 

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help  America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire  Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The  Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again!
It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Everyone has or knows someone who has bought a  TAE-BO TAPE, or DVD Package.  Just look in the Garage or basement.   Here are some numbers: Tae-Bo exploded after being favored and featured on the OPRAH Winfrey show. Today we believe that it is WILLIE'S TURN to share the Spotlight.

Everyone knows the financial success of TAE-BO. In 1999 over 5million copies of the Tae-Bo workout videos/DVDs were sold. This is equivalent to grossing over $250 Million dollars in revenue, making TAE-BO one of the most successful Fitness Enterprises of all time. Can You imagine what would happen if OPRAH did the same feature with Willie Blanks? Yes, lighting would definitely strike twice in this family!
Here is a CNN Report on the revelation about Billy Blank's fight with dyslexia.  It is in light of this that WCN Transmedia Research Group examines how this disease may have made Billy forget his family financially.  To many over-achiever's, dyslexia affects a number of us. However, it does not cause us to live a lie. Yes I said it. Dyslexia does not cause one to build a career on helping people only to ignore and be unsupportive of your own brothers and sisters, nieces, and nephews and more. The Blanks Family has a tradition and a bond that has been shattered by the success of one member. Right now Billy and Willies nephew is in a homeless shelter or living in a house/group home with at least 3 to 4 other people.  How and why is this happening? And if, for no other reason, this post is necessary to highlight this un-noticed situation.

After an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Billy Blank's Tae-Bo Exploded.  It is my hope that this little blog will provide Willie Blanks the same opportunity to launch WILLINETICS and at the same time help his immediate family that has been faced with year after year of hardship.   Both WILLIE, BILLY AND I may indeed have a bit of Dyslexia, I hope that one of the symptoms is NOT turning our backs on those who are immediate family while projecting and presenting the media another story of success.   I know Willie and he would never turn his back on his family after financial success. I’m sure that his siblings would all vouch for him validating this statement.
