Miss Representation Premiered on OWN Documentary Club helps shape the Destiny of Woman’s Programming on WCN and creation of The Transmedia Woman’s Council on Linkedin See More…

Tonight after Oprah‘s Life Class, I stuck around for the OWN Documentary Club Premier Miss Representation and boy am I glad I did.  As I lead and shape the future for World Colours Network Television getting this right the first time is paramount for the future of WCNTV.

Recognizing the Truths of this Documentary I am immediately launching the First Transmedia Women’s Council.  I would like to start with a 10 Member All Women Steering Committee to help us shape WCN Transmedia Programming for and by Women reflecting the images that reflect the diversity and beauty of women.  I also called my daughters to have them watch this documentary.  I highly recommend this documentary and I congratulate GIRLS CLUB ENTERTAINMENT for an excellent Documentary.

I also just became a Rep at the website.  Equal Rights for All is the call and I hope to learn more from the new Transmedia Woman’s Council.

Katie Couric

Miss Representation brings together some of America’s most influential women in politics, news and entertainment, including Condoleezza Rice, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Rachel Maddow, Margaret Cho, Rosario Dawson and Gloria Steinem to give audiences an inside look at the media‘s message and depiction of women. The film explores women’s under-representation in positions of power by challenging their limited and often disparaging portrayals in the media. Miss Representation takes the stand that the media is portraying women’s primary values as their youth, beauty and sexuality – rather than their capacity as leaders.

Premieres Thursday, October 20th at 9/8c, only on OWN.
